    The Observatory Team

    Our story

    The Industry Observatory was conceived with the aim of monitoring technological, economic, and social changes in order to build strategies to act in advance of these changes, repositioning the state of Ceará to attract investments and increase industrial competitiveness.

    We started our work defining the main potentialities of the state and the respective paths for the best use of these differentials, elaborating sectoral roadmaps with the identification of obstacles, key technologies, and short, medium, and long-term strategic actions, through an articulated debate between the private sector, public authorities, and the academy. 

    Over the last few years, we have developed projects to enhance the competitiveness of the 14 strategic sectors that impact the development of Ceará, and also to identify the professional profiles that the industry of Ceará will demand, inducing competitiveness through the anticipation of professional training aligned with this need. 

    In addition,our dashboards contribute to attracting investments and decision-making in sectoral governance and we offer specialized service to private companies for the elaboration of projects that aim to study and understand their market needs, implementing improvements in a cooperative way, and facilitating data-driven decision-making.

    Awards

    The Strategic Route and the Sea Economy Masterplan were awarded, in Lisbon, with the Excellens Mare Award, from PricewaterhouseCoopers, also called PwC, one of the largest providers of professional services in the world in the areas of auditing, consulting, and secondary services. The works were elected by PWC as some of the best projects in the world for the development of the Sea Economy. The studies were presented during the awards ceremony.

    The Federation of Industries of the State of Ceará (FIEC), through the Rastum Project, from the Industry Observatory, was one of the three finalists of the Tuna Awards, an international award that takes place in Spain.

    The project was developed by a network of partners: Union of Cold and Fishing Industries in the State of Ceará (Sindfrio); Ceará State University (UECE), Federal University of Ceara (UFC) and the Institute of Marine Sciences (Labomar). Based on a public notice issued by the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI).

    The #ElasporElas Project, conceived by the team of the Industry Observatory (FIEC System), SESI Ceará, Vice-Governance of the State of Ceará, Women from Brazil Group, Rede Acolhe/Public Defender, and Committee to Prevent and Combat Violence of the Legislative Assembly, was awarded in the Call for Innovation, E-Formalization and Skills Development of the International Labor Organization (ILO).
